Специалист по орофациальной боли и декан Стоматологического колледжа Университета Кентукки. Основатель и директор Центра орофациальной боли в Университете Кентукки (основан в 1977 году), признанный пионером в области образования по ВНЧС и орофациальной боли.
Более 50 лет академического и клинического опыта в области височно-нижнечелюстных расстройств и управления орофациальной болью. Разработал первую программу магистерской степени в области орофациальной боли в Соединенных Штатах, аккредитованную Американской академией орофациальной боли. Программа резидентуры по орофациальной боли была одной из первых, аккредитованных Комиссией по стоматологической аккредитации, выпустив 65 резидентов полного дня из 26 стран.
Профессор и руководитель отделения орофациальной боли, штатный преподаватель Университета Кентукки в течение 45 лет. Международный лектор, прочитавший более 1300 приглашенных лекций во всех штатах США и 59 зарубежных странах. Признан коллегами «Всемирным послом орофациальной боли».
DMD Университета Кентукки (1974). Заслуженный профессор службы ректората. Автор учебника «Лечение височно-нижнечелюстных расстройств и окклюзии» (8-е издание), переведенного на 11 языков и используемого в большинстве стоматологических школ США. Редактор «Орофациальная боль: Руководство по классификации, оценке и лечению» (AAOP), используемого в качестве стандартов лечения во всем мире. Более 240 публикаций в научных журналах. Бывший президент Американской академии орофациальной боли. Дипломат-основатель и дважды бывший президент Американского совета по орофациальной боли. Лауреат премии «Великий учитель» Университета Кентукки, премии Acorn штата Кентукки, премии «Международный стоматолог года» Международной академии стоматологии и введен в Зал выдающихся выпускников Университета Кентукки.
