June 20 – The theory of Muscle and TMJ

diagnostics, disorders, clinical tactics

• The goals and objectives of modern functional rehabilitation.

• «Gnathological triangle» in modern interpretation.

• The concept of the central ratio, reference positioning, therapeutic position, stable muscular-articular position.

• Diagnosis of a TMJ dysfunction (manual analysis).

• Diagnosis of a TMJ dysfunction (CBCT).

• Diagnosis of a TMJ dysfunction (MRI).

• Diagnosis of a TMJ dysfunction (axiography).

• Methods for determining the central ration, neuromuscular position.

• Myography as a basic diagnostic study.

•Muscle parafunctions: occlusive and non-occlusive causes.

•Myography indices (torsional, massinertial), practical importance in stabilizing the occlusion from the point of view of the orthodontist and the orthopedist.

• Applying botox for the correction of the muscle disorder (scientifically based opinion)

•Muscle disorders of the cervical region, as a cause of a TMJ dysfunction (contemporary perspectives).

• Neck disability indices.

•Diagnosis of the cervical region disorder (functional tests: norm and pathology).

June 21 – The theory of respiratory tract and occlusion

Complex rehabilitation

• Dental sleep medicine.

• Sleep bruxism.

• Snoring and sleep apnea.

• Polysomnography as an element in diagnosis of a dental patient (practical importance).

Protocol diagnosis of the condition of the upper respiratory tract.

• «Respiratory octahedron» from the point of view of neuromuscular dentistry, osteopathy and anesthesiology (scientifically based).

• In which cases we send to the ENT doctor in the first place (interaction protocol)

• Various occlusal patterns from the modern point of view.

• Evaluation of the occlusal vertical dimension with a complex rehabilitation planning (in which areas we lower and raise the occlusal vertical dimension).

•Articulator settings: Sci, Bennet, ISS. What do they affect when remodeling occlusion?

• From the standard settings to axiography.

• Composite protocol rules.

June 22 – Practice. Muscles and TMJ

Determination of treatment tactics, splint manufacturing

• Selection of the reference plane for diagnosis: FH, CE, HIP.

• Determination of CR, gypsum in the articulator (manual techniques, deprogrammation, TENS).

• Tactics for acute intra-articular disorder of the TMJ (manufacture of Anterior reposition appliance).

• Determination of an individual stable muscular-articular position (manufacture of deprogrammator according to Okeson).

• Stabilization of the position of the lower jaw (splint stabilization manufacturing).

• Manufacture of a muscle relaxing splint.

June 23 – Workshop on respiratory tract and occlusion

grinding, modeling

• Selective grinding

• Restoration of the front guides: incisive, canine guidance.

• Wax modeling of occlusion in articulator.

• Making transparent keys for the future restorations.

• Work with the keys in SonicFill system.

Международный лектор по современным протоколам ортодонтического лечения с учетом функциональных параметров. Главный редактор интернет-проекта "Orthodontics On-line". Автор серии семинаров по диагностике и лечению пациентов с патологиями ВНЧС.

FICD, FICCMO, профессор университета UJI (Кастельон-де-Ла-Плана, Испания). Член Европейского ортодонтического общества. Член Международной ассоциации функциональной ортодонтии. Член кафедры детской стоматологии с курсом челюстно-лицевой хирургии ПСПбГМУ им. Павлова.
