Получил степень доктора стоматологии в 1992 году в Гейдельбергском университете.
Работал ассистентом на кафедре челюстно-лицевой хирургии.
В 1999 году основал ведущую фирму по непрерывному образованию и консультированию в области стоматологии.
С 2007 по 2015 год работал научным сотрудником в клинике челюстно-лицевой хирургии и имплантологии в Кельне. Там провел многочисленные исследования по анализу поверхности имплантатов и лечению периимплантита.
Ex-директор Европейской академии дентальной имплантологии и директором программы независимого института медицинских материалов MMRI, Берлин.
Возглавляет Фонд «Clean Implant », всемирную инициативу, цель которой - исследование качества зубных имплантатов.
