Bruxism - is an important function of the masticatory organs along with functions such as mastication and phonation.
Our studies over the last two decades have shown that bruxism is effective in reducing stress, controlling sympathetic nerve activity, and suppressing stress-induced symptoms. Therefore, bruxism is considered to be an important function in health medicine. However, on the other hand, it is also a fact that bruxism causes many oral diseases such as occlusal collapse, periodontal disease, and
temporomandibular joint disease. Therefore, the role of occlusal science is in how to avoid oral diseases and enable smooth bruxism.
